What You Need to Know About Stress

External forces impacting your life is the embodiment of that ever-prevalent phenomenon called stress. Being a common aspect of daily living, never a day goes by that you don't experience it. Ranging from hardly noticeable to extremes, in small doses, stress can be good for you. But too much of it could make your entire physical and mental system go haywire, resulting to adverse health consequences. Overall, stress can be categorized into two distinctive types: eustress (good stress) and distress (bad stress).

Eustress could be considered as the good kind of stress because it connotatively brings us to life. Simply put, this is the kind of stress we feel whenever we get excited or motivated. Whether the stimulus is engaging in fun activities like riding a roller-coaster or getting involved in a competition of sorts, the mental high we get charges our systems, prompting us to react in a positive way accordingly.

Distress, on the other hand, is almost self-explanatory, judging from the term alone. This is the kind of bad stress we deal with every day. It's the totality of adverse stress we get from all sort of annoyances and complications, be it work or relationship related.
